Casio's December Artist Spotlight: Kyle Morrison

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

CASIO’S DECEMBER ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: KYLE MORRISON
Morrison Currently Recording “Pianometal" Album for Release in January

DOVER, NJ, December 5, 2016 - This December, Casio America, Inc., a leading innovator of electronic musical instruments, is thrilled to highlight the musically gifted Kyle Morrison as part of its Artist Program. Casiou2019s Artist Program looks to help both aspiring and established musicians by providing multiple levels of support including the best tools available to musicians, allowing them to easily fulfill their love and passion for music.

Morrison has been a longtime fan of Casio keyboards after first using the Privia PX-310 almost 10 years ago. Currently, for teaching and practicing, Morrison uses Casio’s PX-3 and for everything else, including recording and performing, he prefers to use the PX-5S. By combining modern technology with traditional composition, Kyle has created a genre of music that puts the focus on an often overlooked instrument within an aggressive setting. Morrison’s style paved the way for his Pianometal album, which is slated for release in 2017.

“When I first played on Casio’s Privia PX-310 about 10 years ago, I was amazed by the incredible feel and tone that it produced," said Morrison. “Casio’s keyboards keep getting better and better and I am so grateful that I have been able to call myself a member of their artist family for the past five years. The piano is such a diverse instrument and I love pushing the limit on what is possible by taking advantage of all the features that Casio’s keyboards have available."

Morrison considers himself to be an introverted classical pianist who was raised on 80’s thrash metal, which has helped him produce a musical hybrid of chaos and tranquility. He has made a name for himself by crafting classically-infused, video game inspired pianometal – an aggressive twist backing a typically soft instrument has created a unique genre that commands appreciation from multiple musical backgrounds.

“Kyle’s style of music is incredibly unique and we love that he has created an entirely new genre of music using Casio’s keyboards," said Stephen Schmidt, Vice President of Casio’s Electronic Musical Instruments Division. “His passion for music and our brand is so inspiring and we are excited that he continues to be part of our Casio Artist Program."

Morrison is part of the current roster of Casio artists including Tom Brislin, Jonatha Brooke, Eldar Djangirov, Steve Weingart and more. For additional information about Casio’s Artist Program or portfolio of electronic musical instruments, please visit www.CasioMusicGear.com
