CASIO G-SHOCK RELEASES LIMITED EDITION MR-G IN SEPTEMBER
Special Edition MR-G Timepieces Created with Kasumi -Tsu-i-ki Design and Bluetooth Capabilities

DOVER, NJ, August 29, 2017 -Today, Casio G-SHOCK announces the availability of the MRGG2000HT-1A a new special edition timepiece demonstrating the best in Japanese innovation and craftsmanship that was unveiled at Baselworld will be available in select stores in early September. With 500 pieces available worldwide, the first-ever Bluetooth® connected MR-G is handcrafted using a traditional Japanese hammer tone technique with colors inspired by a Japanese cloud dragon. The MRGG2000HT-1A timepiece features three-way time sync capabilities made possible via Bluetooth Connectivity and G-SHOCK’s GPS Atomic Solar Hybrid technology, accurately measuring time and location from anywhere on earth.

By utilizing the new G-SHOCK MR-G Connected App for smartphones, users can easily set world time as well as enhance the reliability of the timepiece through monitoring the watch’s key functions such as self-adjustment, solar charging, and more.

This is the latest collaboration with third generation master metal craftsman Bihou Asano, who individually hammered each bezel and band using the Tsu-i-ki technique with a Kasumi finish: a traditional craft method that creates unique relief patterns through hammering. The colors found in the bezel and on the hands are reminiscent of the colors featured on a traditional cloud dragon – “Japan blue."

Created to be the epitome of luxury and strength, the MRGG2000HT-1A titanium case and band undergo a special deep-hardening treatment that renders it five times harder than regular titanium, while the diamond-like carbon coating of the band and a sapphire glass crystal offer outstanding scratch resistance. Tough solar technology ensures stable operation even when using power hungry functions, and a metal plate reading “2017 Limited" commemorates the year of release.

Each model also comes equipped with standard G-SHOCK technology of shock resistance and 200M water resistance, as well as world time (39 cities + UTC), a high brightness LED light, , daily alarm, full auto calendar with automatic date update capabilities, 24-hour stopwatch and 24-hour countdown timer – all in a 49.8mm case.

The MRGG2000HT-1A retails for $7,400 and is available for purchase at select authorized G-SHOCK MRG Jewelers beginning Sep 1st .

About G-SHOCK
CASIO’s shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch is synonymous with toughness, born from the developer Mr. Ibe’s dream of ‘creating a watch that never breaks’. Over 200 handmade samples were created and tested to destruction until finally in 1983 the first, now iconic G-SHOCK hit the streets of Japan and began to establish itself as ‘the toughest watch of all time’. Each watch encompasses the 7 elements; electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness. The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock; this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since its launch, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve, continuing to support on Mr. Ibe’s mantra “never, never give up." www.gshock.com.
