CASIO EXPANDS EDIFICE TIMEPIECE COLLECTION WITH TWO NEW MODELS

EQB-510 and ECB-500 Models Feature Smartphone Connection Capabilities to Easily Set Functions from an App

DOVER, NJ, May 19, 2015 – Known for combining style and technology, Casio America, Inc. announced today the introduction of two new models to its line of EDIFICE analog watches. Designed with business travelers in mind, the analog-style EQB-510 and analog-digital style ECB-500 feature multi-dimensional, high-contrast watch faces with dual dial world time in a 12-hour format that enable the wearer to read the time in two cities at a glance, while also offering advanced technological functions such as smartphone connectivity.

“The EQB-510 and ECB-500 perfectly exemplify what the EDIFICE Collection is known for - its classic style and incredible functionality,” said David Johnson, Vice President of Casio America, Inc.’s Timepiece Division. “The new additions to this collection symbolize Casio’s understanding of what its consumers want and need in this ever-changing tech universe.”

Mobile Link Technology
The EQB-510 and ECB-500 can both connect to a smartphone with just one push of a button through Casio’s Mobile Link Technology. By downloading the CASIO WATCH+ app and connecting to a compatible smartphone via Bluetooth® SMART, the watch can access the correct time in its current location and for over 300 cities worldwide, even correcting for Daylight Saving Time if needed. Users also have the capability to swap the specified home time and world time with the press of a button, as well as correct alarms and other time settings. Additionally, the phone finder function causes the user’s phone to emit a sound to help find its location, even if the phone is on silent.

Tough Solar Power
Water resistant up to 100 meters, the new EDIFICE timepieces feature Casio’s Tough Solar Power which eliminates the need for battery changes. After a full-charge and without further exposure to light, the EQB-510 has a battery life of approximately 34 months, while the ECB-500 has a battery life of approximately 33 months. The timepieces also have a special power save feature that enables them to power down when not exposed to light for a certain period of time, thus conserving energy. The eco-friendly, solar battery-powered timepieces can be charged even in low or fluorescent light.

The EQB-510 is available now at select retailers nationwide for a MSRP of $380 and the ECB-500 will be available in June for an MSRP of $300. For more information on Casio’s EDIFICE Collection, please visit www.Edifice.Casio.com.
