Casio Digital Piano Line Recognized for Pro Digital Piano Line of the Year

Dover, NJ, December 22nd, 2015 Casio America, Inc. is excited to announce that it has been named a winner in the 23rd Annual MMR Dealers Choice Awards for Pro Digital Piano Line of the Year. Every December for over two decades, readers of MMR have selected the top instruments across an array of categories, honoring those companies which have designed, produced, and marketed gear that has resonated most with end-users and generated sales and profit for retailers.

“Pro Digital Piano Line of the Year is consistently a very competitive Dealers’ Choice Awards category, but in 2015 Casio won convincingly, said Christian Wissmuller, Executive Editor of Musical Merchandise Review. “Dealers singled out the instruments’ advanced features, playability, quality build, and price points as being strong selling points that really connect with end-users."

Casio’s line of Privia digital pianos has redefined the category with unprecedented sound quality and performance features. The Privia Pro PX-5S provides an arsenal of acoustic piano, vintage keyboard and synth sounds along with its powerful controller features all in a portable and lightweight package. The latest introductions to Casio’s digital piano lines have such features as Color Touch InterfaceTM LCD screens, built-in speakers, rhythms and sequencing tools for the performer and songwriter. At the heart of these instruments is Casio’s proprietary AiR sound source which provides incredible realism, detail and expression for grand piano sounds. The AiR technology also provides stunning fidelity and control over other instrument tones and effects with 256 notes of polyphony.

In addition to its Privia line, Casio has also raised the bar in the music industry with the newly introduced CELVIANO Grand Hybrid pianos. Casio collaborated with grand piano maker C. Bechstein to build keys using the same processes and materials as their grand pianos. This combined with Casio’s unique mechanism recreates the hammer movement in a grand piano, making the action nearly indistinguishable from an acoustic grand. The CELVIANO Grand Hybrid pianos are equipped with three world class grand piano sounds, the Berlin Grand, Hamburg Grand and Vienna Grand. This combination of touch and sound capabilities makes the CELVIANO Grand Hybrid the ideal instrument for professional classical, jazz and rock musicians in practice and performance environments where it is not practical to use an acoustic.

“Casio is honored to be recognized by its dealers, industry peers and performing artists as recipient of this esteemed award, we remain committed to developing products which set new standards for today’s musicians," said Stephen Schmidt, Vice President of Casio’s Electronic Musical Instrument Division.

Winners of the MMR Dealers Choice Award are highlighted in the December 2015 issue of MMR, which is currently available. Additionally, Casio will be presented an award for this outstanding win at its booth during the 2016 Winter NAMM show.
