GP-400 CELVIANO Grand Hybrid piano has been nominated for the prestigious NAMM TEC Award in the Musical Instrument Hardware category. Presented annually by the NAMM Foundation at The NAMM Show, the NAMM TEC Awards recognize the individuals, companies and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings, live performances, films, television, video games and other media.
Voting is open to pro audio and music industry professionals now through December 31, 2016.

From the pool of product and project submissions in each category through a “Call for Entries," nominees and winners of the TEC Awards are determined by a nominating panel comprised of professionals and thought leaders from all areas of the audio and sound production industry. Eligible nominees are those projects or products that, in the opinion of the nominating panel, represent superior accomplishment in their respective fields.
Casio’s
GP-400 piano combines the advantages of digital and acoustic pianos, while delivering the highly authentic touch and tone of a grand piano. It was developed in collaboration with famed German piano manufacturer C. Bechstein, and comes equipped with its Natural Grand Hammer Action Keyboard technology. This one-of-a-kind mechanism includes full-length wooden concert grand piano keys, using materials and methods as found in C. Bechstein grand pianos. A keypress sends a hammer along the same exact vertical path as a grand piano, with accurate pivot points and scaled weighting, resulting in a true piano touch that allows the musician to play in a completely natural manner. The GP-400 also features Casio’s
AiR Grand Sound Source, which recreates the sonic and physical characteristics of three legendary grand pianos, dubbed Berlin, Hamburg and Vienna.
All models within Casio’s Grand Hybrid portfolio also include the Grand Acoustic System that recreates the three-dimensional sound field of an acoustic grand, using six speakers to reproduce sounds emanating from above and below the soundboard. This simulation allows for both rich and complex sound that not only fills a room but also resonates with both the musician and the audience.
